Turbo-N

Smarter nitrogen delivery for more consistent growth

Most nitrogen products focus on how much you apply.
Turbo N focuses on how much actually gets used.

Turbo N is a high-efficiency liquid nitrogen designed to deliver a reliable plant response while reducing common losses associated with standard nitrogen applications. It fits seamlessly into pasture, cropping, horticulture and viticulture systems — without requiring a change in how you farm.

Same nutrient. Smarter delivery. Better outcomes.

What Turbo N does

What Turbo N is designed to do

Turbo N is designed to:

  • Improve nitrogen efficiency

  • Deliver a more consistent plant response

  • Reduce waste from volatilisation and leaching

  • Support soil function rather than disrupt it

The goal isn’t to apply more nitrogen — it’s to get more value from every unit applied.

How it works

How Turbo N works in your system

Nitrogen performance is influenced by timing, losses, soil activity and plant demand. Turbo N is built around these realities.

Turbo N:

  • Improves nutrient contact in the soil and at the leaf

  • Helps keep nitrogen active in the root zone for longer

  • Supports the biological processes that govern nutrient cycling

  • Allows better control through liquid application

The result is a nitrogen application that works with the system instead of against it.

Turbo N vs standard urea

Standard Urea

  • Granular nitrogen application

  • Efficiency varies depending on conditions

  • Higher risk of loss through volatilisation and leaching

  • Primarily a nutrient input

Turbo N

  • Liquid nitrogen delivery

  • Designed for more consistent uptake

  • Reduced loss potential

  • Designed to support system function as well as nutrition

Turbo N still supplies nitrogen — it just does it in a smarter way.

Where Turbo N fits best

Where Turbo N fits best

Turbo N is ideal when:

  • Nitrogen demand is high

  • A reliable and efficient nitrogen response is needed

  • Conditions are variable

  • You want to lift efficiency without lifting rates

Common use situations include:

  • Spring growth

  • Peak production periods

  • Post-grazing or post-cut recovery

  • In-season nitrogen corrections

Grades available

Turbo N grades

Turbo N is available in multiple strengths to match growth stage and demand:

  • Turbo N 10

  • Turbo N 15

  • Turbo N 17.5

This allows growers to fine-tune nitrogen input without over-applying.

How to use

Application guidance

Turbo N can be applied:

  • To soil

  • As a foliar application

Typical use:

  • Apply during active growth periods

  • Match rate and timing to crop or pasture demand

  • Suitable for use as part of a broader nutrient programme

Recommended grade for pasture:
Turbo N 15 is the recommended grade for pasture applications. It is the preferred option for most dairy and grazing systems.

Compatibility note:
Turbo N is compatible with most common products used in pasture, cropping and horticulture. However, some combinations can cause settling or separation when mixed, particularly products with extreme pH levels or high mineral content.

If you’re planning a tank mix, perform a jar test first. Mix a small sample in a clear container and check for cloudiness or settling over 15–30 minutes. If the mixture appears cloudy or begins to settle, do not apply and contact DCT for guidance.

This is less likely to occur when the spray tank is actively agitated during application.

Your advisor or DCT representative can help tailor use to your system and conditions.

Prefer to keep using your own urea but improve how it performs?
Some growers choose products like Optimise IO or Stabi Mix to support on-farm urea use.

Different tools. Same goal: better nitrogen efficiency.

Designed for New Zealand conditions

Turbo N is used across New Zealand farming systems and is designed to perform under real-world conditions — not just ideal ones.

It works in:

  • Conventional systems

  • Regenerative systems

  • Mixed approaches

You don’t need to change how you farm.
You just change how efficiently nitrogen is delivered.

Frequently asked questions

Is Turbo N compatible with other products?

Turbo N is compatible with most common products used in pasture, cropping and horticulture. However, some combinations can cause settling or separation when mixed, particularly products with extreme pH levels or high mineral content.

Can Turbo N be used in pasture, cropping and horticulture?

Yes. Turbo N is designed to work across multiple systems, including pasture, cropping, horticulture and viticulture.

What grade of Turbo N should I use for pasture?

Turbo N 15 is the recommended grade for pasture applications. It is the preferred option for most dairy and grazing systems.

Can Turbo N be applied foliar and to soil?

Yes. Turbo N can be applied as a soil application or foliar spray depending on your needs and system.

Does Turbo N replace urea completely?

Turbo N can replace urea in many situations, particularly when efficiency and consistency are priorities. Some growers prefer to continue using urea with products like Optimise IO or Stabi Mix — it depends on your system and goals.

How do I choose the right Turbo N grade?

Turbo N comes in multiple strengths to match demand. Your DCT advisor can recommend the best grade based on your crop, pasture stage and desired outcome.
